Batasia Loop
Batasia Loop stands as one of India’s inspiring engineering architectural marvels. Construction of the loop was the need of the time. The Ghoom railway station was followed by a sharp fall as the toy train moves towards Darjeeling. To reduce these drastic 100 feet fall, a loop was created for rescue.
Although Batasia Loop is a bloodline for the toy train but is also an attraction in itself. The marvelous loop is surrounded by a beautiful garden. This garden is adorned with the velvety grass, flowering plants, and green bushes. The garden, in its center, holds a War Memorial dedicated to the Gorkha Soldiers.
Batasia Loop is a much-awaited spot on the journey on the toy train. This spot offers picturesque view of the city, the majestic Mt Kanchendzonga, and the Eastern Himalayas.
