Chapramari Wildlife Sanctuary

Chapramari sees itself as an extension of Gorumara National Park. This wildlife sanctuary was established in the year 1998, with the recognition of its diverse flora and fauna. The forest is not too big but still hosts a wide array of wildlife.
The park is famed for its collection of elephants, gaurs (i.e. Indian bison), leopards, different types of deer including spotted deer, chital, sambar and barking deer, wild boars, one-horned rhinos and much more.
This place is a paradise for bird lovers. The most frequented birds here are mynas, scarlet minivets, green magpie, Indian treepie, thrush, white-breasted kingfisher, adjutant stork, egrets, darters, large & little cormorants, Brahmini ducks, teals, etc. The forest also holds many varieties of trees and plants.
For the ease of the visitors are a watchtower and a chance of Jungle safari. One can prebook a jeep and a guide for the tour through the jungle.
The timings of the park depend on the season.
