Meesapulimala Trekking Program:

On this trek to Meesapulimala, we walk through the high altitude grasslands and mountain rainforest ecosystem that is unique to the Western Ghats. While ascending Meesapulimala, enjoy breathtaking views of the vast plains of Tamil Nadu to your east and the never ending Sahyadri to your west. We start the trek from an altitude of 1,500 meters, gradually climbing to over 2,600m, passing through sholas (high altitude rain forests) and grasslands which are typical to the higher areas of the Western Ghats. The area also has wildlife – notably elephants, sambar, sloth bear and the Nilgiri tahr – the latter being endemic and endangered. We can see the world’s highest tea estate Kolukkumalai in the undulating hills below. We will descend and continue trekking through the sholas and tea gardens till we reach Silent Valley.

Meesapulimala Stay & Accomodation(Base Camp)

Check in and Check out: Preferably by noon by 2 pm and check out after 23 hour or 1pm on the following day whichever is earlier. Guests can stay at Base camp located at the altitude of about 6000ft. Feel the outdoors by staying in the tents arranged at the camp. Electricity for the camp is generated using micro turbine. The best thing about Munnar is chillness and the climate. Enjoy the night in the outdoors by sitting around the campfire and savour a delicious supper. Spend the night sleeping in the wild. Next morning brings to you an adventurous trek up to Meesapulimala / Rodovalley located at an altitude of around 7500-8700 feet
