Mandore
Mandore is an ancient town to the north of Jodhpur. The town holds its importance in the religious Hindu books. The town also holds mythological importance as it is believed that the wife of Demon King Ravana, named Mandodari, was native to this town and their marriage happened here. To pay a tribute to this mythological story, there is a Ravan temple in the town.
Mandore also holds administrative importance as it was the princely state of Marwar (Jodhpur State) until 1459 AD. The city is revered by the tourists because of its many beautiful spots as- Mandore Gardens, temples, memorials, and high rock terraces.
The Mandore garden is a hub of the ancient monuments and the cenotaphs. Prime attraction among which are the chhatri of Maharaja Ajit Singh, government museum, Hall of Heroes and a Hindu temple to 33 crore gods.
