Jaswant Thada
The Jaswant Thada is basically a cenotaph located in the city of Jodhpur. This marble mausoleum in Jodhpur is also famed as the Taj Mahal of Mewar. It was constructed by Maharaja Sardar Singh of Jodhpur in the year 1899 in memory of his father, Maharaja Jaswant Singh II. The place serves as the cremation ground for the royalties of Marwar.
The place is such stunning and beautiful that a tourist on Jodhpur trip won’t afford to miss it. The greenery around the monument is mesmerising. One can see here the intricate carved cenotaphs and domes of the royal family members. Nearby is a lake that lines the premises and was earlier used for the rituals.
