Mandore Garden
Mandore Garden is a beautiful heritage spot, situated in the town of Mandore, towards the outskirts of Jodhpur. The garden is beautiful and attracts tourists visiting Jodhpur all year round. The prime attraction of the garden is its high rocky terrace.
Near the garden is the famous cenotaph or chhatri (dewal) of Maharaja Ajit Singh, which was built in 1793. There are cenotaphs of other rulers as well. These cenotaphs are comparably different from the other ones of the state. Precisely, these are red sandstone cenotaphs that have a great resemblance with the Hindu temples.
The garden also includes a famous ‘Hall of Heroes’ that sings the praises about the folk heroes, Hindu gods and popular Rajputs of the region. There are rock sculptures that ornament this hall.
Also to see is the Government Museum inside the garden, which is adorned with artefacts and old relics. Another yet important attraction of this garden is ‘The Shrine of the Three Hundred Million Gods’.
