Khimsar is a small and historic village, 92 km from Jodhpur. The village is famed for its fort that sings about the glorious past of the village, the mighty rulers it has seen and the war victories it has witnessed in the past. The village of Khimsar has lots of stories in its bucket to tell.
The main attraction here is the medieval temples of Osian adorned with stunning stone carvings, which attracts lots of tourists visiting the city of Jodhpur.
The Khimsar fort itself holds great historical importance. It has seen many great rulers and battles in the past. The construction of the fort is thought to be during 1523 but it saw inhabitants in the 18th century.
The fort has been succeeded by the generations of the Khimsar Thakurs and is presently under the possession of Thakur Onkar Singh. The fort still continues to spread its charm and glory throughout the nation and abroad.
