Vaigai Dam

Vaigai Dam is a good example of the mighty structures made up by the man. The Dam stands over the River Vaigai near Andipatti, which is about 70 kilometers from Madurai. The Dam was constructed in the year 1959 and its height is calculated to be 111 feet. The Dam has been serving the people of Madurai since then. The Dam is often flocked by the people seeking for weekend gateway and ones looking for some peaceful place. The reservoir gives an excellent view during the dawn and the Dusk, and thus sees maximum nature lover at that time. Apart from the dam, one can also visit Little Brindavan garden on the premises. The beautiful garden houses wide varieties of flowers and shrubs that keep the visitors hypnotized by its charm. There is a safe place for children too to play.
