Pazhamudhir Solai

About 20 km from the main city is an ancient Hindu temple Pazhamudir Solai. The temple is believed to be about 1000 to 1500 years old and worships Lord Muruga. The temple holds the prestige of being among the six Arupadaiveedu, i.e. the place where Lord Muruga encountered important events in his life. Thus, this temple sees a large number of devotees throughout the year. The presiding deity Lord Muruga sits along with his consorts Goddess Valli and Goddess Devayani in the main shrine. The intricate architecture of the temple is worth appreciating, the chief attractions being its vimana and the gopuram. The temple makes a scenic and spiritual experience as it resides over a hilltop. Accompanying the dense forest in the hill is waterfalls and springs that enhances the beauty of the place.
