Maitri Bagh

As the name suggests- Maitri, meaning friendship, this zoo was established as the friendship between India and Russia of a steel plant at Bhilai. The place is very near to the city and is a popular place to be visited by the parents with their children on weekends. The place has a zoo and garden with playground for the children as well. This place is nearly always heard by a group of people, so you will never find yourself lonely here. It has always remained a choice of picnic spot amongst the nearby schools.

Established in 1972, the zoo captures nearly 111 acres of land. It houses many varieties of animals and birds, snakes and insects and diverse varieties of plants and trees as well. Apart from interacting with the animals, you can also go for boating, enjoy the musical fountain, walk along with the grasses and also amuse yourselves in the laughter of children playing in the park.
