BBD Bagh

BBD Bagh aka Dalhousie Square is one of the oldest and most revered buildings of Kolkata. The place is an administrative center and the Central Business District of the city of Kolkata. BBD bagh sees itself as a World Heritage Site and displays a marvelous example of Colonial Architecture. The Dalhousie square sees the maximum number of British colonial heritage worldwide. The place reminds about the British era and they’re fine detailing on mesmerizing architecture. One can spot here- The General Post Office, Reserve Bank of India, Hong Kong and Shanghai Bank, Telephone Bhavan, Stephen House, Town Hall, the Writers’ Building, and iconic Eden Gardens. The place got its name B.B.D.Bagh after the names of three young Indian independence activists — Benoy, Badal and Dinesh.  These young activists make themselves immortal in the indian history of Indepencende by shooting their Inspector General of Prisons, N.S. Simpson dead on 8 December 1930.
