Infrequently called by the name Mamallapuram, the Mahabalipuram Beach can be reached by traveling for 58 km from the Chennai city in Tamil Nadu.

The beach sees the shore of Bay of Bengal. The uniqueness of the beach is its rock-cut sculptures, which catches everyone’s attention. The beach extends to the length of nearly 20kms, pretty impressive for one to attend.

The beach is the ideal break for the working persons as well as the homemakers. one can do a variety of fun activities here. Because of its pleasant climate and pristine location, it is frequently flocked by the people. You can find people taking sunbath, windsurfing, swimming, walking, Jogging, making sandcastle etc and enjoying to the fullest at the beach.

Apart from these fun activities, the beach has – crocodile bank with about 5000 crocodiles of 6 different species, a school of art & sculpture and a snake venom extracting center. The beach sees its location amidst the mighty rocks and lagoon and thus is a perfect amalgamation of history and tourism. The temple remains open from 6 am to 6 pm.
