Dolphin’s Nose

Yet another, but the stunning place at Coonoor to visit is the Dolphin Nose. The spot is a viewpoint actually which cannot be missed in the trip to Coonoor as it offers some of the excellent aerial views of the important spots and also the beautiful valley underneath. One can see the beautiful view of Catherine falls emerging out between the greeneries of the valley. To provide an enchanting experience to the tourists, the spot also offers telescopes on rent. The point gives the bird’s eye view of the beautiful valley underneath. One can witness the awe-inspiring plunging valleys, rugged terrain, cloudy skies, and the charm of green forest covering the landscape. The height of this point is calculated to be 6,600 feet. Reaching this point is not so easy. One requires to trek for about 3 km long through the pines and rocks of the Palani Hill Range. The place is loved by photographers and filmmakers as well. On the way to this point are a waterfall and a local village and lots of stalls selling local fruits and vegetable. Just a few meters from the Dolphin’s nose is the eco point, which too is equally enjoyable. Nearby places- Visit Catherine Waterfall, Sim’s Park Coonoor, Nehru park, Rangaswamy peak and pillar on the single trip to Dolphin’s nose.
