Kundala Lake
About 24 kilometers from Munnar and 1700 meters above sea level is this magnificent lake known as Gundala or Kundala Lake. It is situated among the most peaceful and calm atmospheres of the Kerala timberland. Asia’s first arch dam, the Gundala Arch Dam is a sight to behold with its utmost beauty and magnificence.
Kerala has the offices of its Electricity Board in this lake which has managed excellent boating facilities. The brilliant Kashmiri Shikkara boats, rowboats, and basic pedal boats are all available in the area to provide sheer boating experiences.
The natural beauty of this lake is almost healing. It is a perfect escape from the worldly noise and interruptions. To add to its greatest possible beauty, there is a beautiful waterfall known as the Aruvikkad Waterfall near Kundala. Along with it is a part of the Palivassal hydroelectric project in the form of an admirable dam, the Sethu Parvati Dam, built-in 1946.
