Horticultural Gardens
The Agri Horticultural Society of India holds the prestige of being the oldest institution of its kind in India. The society was founded in the year 1820 by Rev. Dr. William Carey, with the aim of promoting and developing agriculture and horticulture in India.
The famed garden is located at 1 Alipore Road, Kolkata, and covers a wide area of 24 acres of land. Apart from developing the new breeds of colorful flowers, the society also provides services like landscaping and also sells seeds and plants of numerous varieties.
The society regularly organizes Consultancy, training, awareness programs, seminars and symposiums, and technical services to promote horticulture in the country. This makes one of the lovely and heavenly places to be visited at Kolkata.
