Thiruvarur
Thiruvarur is a place famed for its temple and the gala chariot festival. This religious town has also given birth to the patrons of the Carnatic music- Tyagaraja, Muthuswami Dikshitar, and Syama Sastri.
The Thyagaraja Temple is seen with utmost religious importance by the people of the state. The temple also holds the Largest Chariot of the state. Festivals- The town sees grand celebration during the Chariot Festival in April/May. Apart from the aforementioned temple, others are Thiruveezhimalai, Thirupampuram, Tirumeichur, Srivanjiyam, Tillaivilagam, and Thirukkannamangai temples and an art gallery and the Kamalayan Tank nearby to be visited.
