Thirumalai Kovil
Thirumalai Kovil is a famous Hindu temple situated at Panpoli that worships Lord Murugan. The temple stands over a hillock as high as 400meters. The construction of the temple is believed to be in the 15th century.
The idol of the main deity of the temple is ver beautiful and glorious. The deity is popularly known as Thirumalai Kumaraswamy or Thirumalai Murugan by the local people. the temple also worships Lord Ganesha, who makes his place in the entrance of the temple. There are idols and shrines of many more gods all over the temple.
The hill has 625 stairs that are to be climbed to reach the temple. The location and the picturesque view adds to the charm of the temple. you can find lots of coconut trees surrounding the hill and thus the temple. Apart from this, there is a famous flower called Kuvalai that blossoms here.
The temple celebrates Step competition on the primary of Chithirai in Apr, Vaikasi Visakam in May/June, Hindu deity Sashti in October/November, Karthikai float competition in November/December and Thai Poosam in January/February.
