Stupa of Sariputra
The ruins of Nalanda University revealed yet another important excavation- The Stupa of Sariputra. The stupa is dedicated to Sariputra, the favorite disciple of Lord Buddha. The stupa holds a pyramidal shape with towers above the whole complex. The stupa site is all encircled by pillared structures. There are seven layers of protection construction, surrounding the stupa. There are bones of one of the two chief disciples of Gautam Buddha inside the stupa.
