Located in the Narmada Hills of Kurnool district in Andhra Pradesh, Srisailam is quite famous for its ancient temples, a wildlife sanctuary, and a dam. Sikharam, as the name suggests is the highest spot in the hill town of Srisailam. It offers majestic views of scenic scenarios and a charming temple. Some famous temples in Srisailam include Sikhareswara Temple, Shikareswara Temple, Sakshi Ganapati Temple, Mallikarjunaswamy Temple, and Hathakesvara Temple. Srisailam Dam is constructed across the Krishna River and is positioned in a deep gorge in the densely wooded Nallamala hill range. The dam is a major attraction as it gives views of the tremendous greens across the downhill. The eye-catching sceneries and the temples attract nature lovers as well as the pilgrims across the state and the country. The sanctum of the Mallikarjuna temple has a shell-like structure and it enshrines Lord Mallikarjuna. The Mallikarjuna Temple looks like a large fort and appears like a large fort for the rich and beautiful structures. Hathakesvara Temple is an exquisite edifice which enshrines a beautiful Shiva Linga.
