Sillappathikara Art Gallery
The Poompuhar town of the Tamil Nadu state sees an important collection house called Sillappathikara Art Gallery. The place can be reached by traveling for 40 km from Chidambaram. The displays of the gallery start with its entrance. A 22.5 feet ‘Magara Thoranavayil’ at the entrance catches everyone’s attention. Inside is an anklet shaped tank, which has the status of Kannagi and Madavi installed at its surroundings. The gallery houses many stone-carved sculptures narrating various famous stories of the region. The place is worth visiting to pay some respect to the artistic hands of the sculptors.
