Sangeet Mahal
Sangeet Mahal sees its place within Thanjavur Palace behind the Royal Museum.
Sangeet Mahal, translating- Hall of Music in English, resides on the first floor and has a fine auditorium with excellent acoustics, depicting the sharp engineering skill of the ancient architects.
The hall was meant for cultural activities and public audiences. The hall sees beautiful paintings and fine carvings all over.
Another attraction of the hall is its central dome, supported by four pillars. The junction of these showcases excellent carving artworks of the skilled professionals.
The hall has an inbuilt special seat which was meant for the king.
