Rose Garden

On the way to the Lady’s Seat, one can also visit a beautiful aromatic place, The Rosegarden of Yercaud. The garden is under the invigilation of the southern circle of Botanical Survey of India. The garden spreads across the wide area of 18.4 hectares, this National Orchidarium was established in 1963. In numbers, there are 3000 trees and 1800 shrubs to be counted. It holds the prestige of being the third-largest Orchidarium of the country and amongst the two Orchidariums run by the Botanical Survey of India. Like the name, The garden houses various exotic species of flowers and plants. The Garden sees major sections as- foliage garden, topiary garden, bonsai garden, butterfly garden, herbal garden, rock garden, water garden, and sensory garden. The other areas of attraction are the Orchidarium and the greenhouse. This beautiful place is home to 30 endangered species of orchids. A must look plant is a rare tree of Shevaroys Bombax, which is multiplied in this farm. The Botanical Garden houses plenty of rare flowers including lady’s slipper orchid and vernonia shevaroyensis.
