Raj Bhawan
Raj Bhawan aka the Government House got its shape in 1877, by the Duke of Buckingham, who was the then Governor of Madras. As the name stands, The Government house was made for his official visit in the place. The massive Govt. house sits on the ridge of the western slopes of Doddabetta. It was once the summer capital of the officials of the state. The Bhawan then underwent many renovations over time. Sir Arthur Havelock in 1900, added a ballroom to the massive mansion. Further, the building got electrified in 1904. To remember the officials, there are huge portraits of George V, George Marry, Queen Victoria, Duke of Buckingham and Governors in the Bhawan.
