Padmapuram Gardens

Padmapuram Gardens is a famous botanical garden located in Araku, at a distance of about 2.5 km from Araku Bus Station and 12 km from the city of Vizag in the Indian province of Andhra Pradesh. It is one of the popular sightseeing sites in the Valley of Araku with amazing and fascinating spots. With plenty of greenery all around, the Padmapuram Botanical Garden is a dreamy spot that is covered in the middle of the Eastern Ghats. This is a place of various fascinating attractions which include colorful flowers, an elegant rose garden, treetop huts, a toy train, and a nursery.

It was built on a 26-acre plot in 1942 for supplying vegetables to the military men who fought during World War II. After the war, the garden was converted into a Horticultural Nursery cum Training Center where plantation, rare species flowers and trees such as eucalyptus and pine along with others, and intriguing stone sculptures pleases the eyes.

The garden also has tree top huts that can be reserved by the visitors. Such tree huts are about ten meters above ground level and are also known as “hanging cottages,”. It is a unique and thrilling experience to be staying in a suspended cottage. You can feel the rare and remarkable swing when the trees sway in the strong breezes.

Padmapuram Garden has some fantastic foliage and is considered as one of the best things to do in Vishakhapatnam district. In this Park along with the wide range of plants, there is also a toy train, which takes you through the park. This toy train ride is an entertaining and must-have experience too.
