Montfort School
As the name stands, Montfort is a co-education secondary school, under the surveillance of Montfort Brothers of St. Gabriel at Yercaud. The Montfort School sees its existence in the year 1917 by Brother Denis. It was a European school which was founded during the First World War and derived its name from the founder of the Order of St. Gabriel, St. Louis Marie Grignon de Montfort. The school advocates ‘Virtue and Labour’ and teaches the value of moral education. The year 1975 saw the students of higher secondary after ‘Mayfield’ was purchased by the school and underwent additional new construction. The school includes a beautiful chapel made up all with stone, setting one of the best examples of Franco-Indian architecture. The three symmetrical grey walls at the entrance of the school represent three stalwarts who laid the foundation of this school. The school is equipped with a beautiful play space, a swimming pool and also a zoo.
