Meesapulimala
This highest peak in the Western Ghats after Anamudi is in the Idukki District of Kerala. At around 8661 feet above the sea level, this place is of great tourist attraction. It got its name as Meesapulimala as it is a group of 8 peaks that spread like a moustache. Located at around 20 km from Munnar, this place is surrounded by landscapes, dense forests, lakes, and tea plantations. With its extreme beauty and tranquility, it welcomes adventurists, mountaineers, bikers, and even honeymooners. One can contact the Kerala Forest Department Corporation in Munnar to arrange trekking to this peak through the Rhodo Valley. The climate over here is always refreshing, and thus it welcomes travelers all around the year. One can also come across a variety of wildlife species like the Sloth Bear, Nilgiri Thar, Wild Gaur, Sambar Deer, Wild Dogs, etc.
Avoid monsoon season as the paths might seem to be difficult in walking.
