Kurinji Andavar Temple

Kurinjiandavar Temple is a must-visit temple of Kodaikanal. The temple is devoted to the God of Hills, i.e. Lord Muruga. Kurinji means hill area and Andavar means God, thus the temple has got its name as Kurinji Andavar Temple. Apart from Lord Muruga, the temple also worships the nine planet gods. The prime attraction of the temple is the Kurinji Flower that blossoms in every 12 years. It is believed that the Kurinji Andavar Temple was constructed in the year 1936 by a European woman. The edges of the temple give a mesmerizing view of the Vagai Dams and Palani Hills.
