Kolli Hills aka Kolli Malai has an elevation of 1000 to 1300 m and cover a wide area of about 280 sq km. The hills received its name after the Goddess Ettukkai Amman (Kolli Paavai). There are many religious stories related to the hill. The journey to the hill itself is an adventurous ride.  You will come across 70 curves to reach the top. Isn’t that exciting? But the excitement does not end here. There are a lot more things to do. The hills are frequently flocked by the nature enthusiasts and the trekkers because of the uniqueness of the place. Trekking to Agaya Gangai Waterfalls gives a unique experience. You will come across two viewpoints – at Seekuparai and Selur Nadu. One can also visit the pineapple research farm at Seekuparai Viewpoint. The forests to visit here are- Kundur Nadu, Puliancholai and Ariyur Solai. Other places of interest include- Arapaleeswarar Temple, Siddhar Caves, Agaya Gangai Waterfalls, Botanical Garden, Masila Falls, and Selur View Point. The state government commences an annual tourism festival, at the pineapple research farm, in August. Another important festival of this region is Ori. The botany buffs can find this place interesting too. The place has dense vegetation of tea, coffee, pineapple, black pepper, jackfruit, and many other plant spices. Wildlife lovers too can’t be disappointed. They may spot animals as Sloth bear, barking deer, Indian pangolin, jackals, mongoose, palm civets, varieties of reptiles and snakes, the endangered Python molurus and unique variety of Birds.
