Golghar

Golghar is a heritage site depicting the history, culture and the architecture of the old India. The monument saw its construction in the year 1786 by Captain John Garstin as a granary. The unfortunate thing about this amazing structure is that it witnessed some architectural defect. the door of the granny opened only inwards, so it became impossible to fill the granary to the fullest of its capacity. The top of this mighty building offers a panoramic view of the city and the Ganges., which can be reached by a flight of 145 stairs. The place makes a good picnic spot, enjoying the surroundings and admiring the history of the country at the same time. to add to the attraction is the light and sound show arranged periodically.
