Cheeyappara and Valara Water Falls
The Eco Tourism Destination of Cheeyappara Valara Water Falls is on the Kochi- Madurai ( madura / madhura ) Highway (NH-49), between Neriamangalam & Adimali. (Around 15KM from neriamangalam) in Idukki District at a few distances from Munnar.
The Cheeyappara Waterfall cascades down ( from a hight of 1200ft ) in seven steps. It is a real feast for the eyes. This is also a great place for trekking .It is one of the best waterfalls of Kerala.Cascading of the Water through the seven steps is very beautiful. It is one of the best tourist places in Idukki district .
Not far from the Cheeyappara waterfalls lie the Valara waterfalls at Chillithodu. These waterfalls lie in dense forests which houses several species of animals and birds. It is a chain of waterfalls in the Deviyar River that originates from Western Ghats.
Cheeyappara Waterfalls distance from Munnar is just 38 km. Karadippara view point from one can enjoy the long view of mountains and tea plantations is near these waterfalls.

By Rail: Get down at the nearest railway stations of Aluva about 108 km and Angamali, about 109 km is from Munnar. Waterfalls are located around 42 km from Munnar, on Aluva-Munnar Rd
By Air: Nearest airport is Cochin International Airport, via Aluva – Munnar Rd, about 108 km from Munnar
By Road: Buses ply to Munnar oftenly
