Buddha Stupa I and II
The 2 Buddha Stupas, Stupa 1 and Stupa 2, are named based on their discovery and excavation. These sacred stupas contain the ashes of Lord Buddha (which were divided into eight parts) preserved in stone caskets. These Buddha Stupas were created for the second Buddhist council that happened here in 383 BC. Even when the exteriors of Buddha Stupa I is not in great condition, it tells a lot about the architecture during that period. The Stupas presently sees themselves in a dilapidated condition, but still holds a great reverence in Buddhism.
