Amrita Ashram

The Mata Amritananda mayi  is an ashram in the Amritapuri of Sri Mata Amritanandamayi, the world-renowned spiritual leader and humanitarian known to most people simply as “Amma”.

Amrita Ashram is the headquarters of Mata Amritanandamayi Math (MAM),India-based spiritual and humanitarian organization, and the international headquarters of Embracing the World.

It’s a domicile to an international community of more than 3,000 people. Permanent residents include monastic disciples and families from all over India and abroad. Inspired by Amma, they have committed their lives to attaining the goal of self-realisation and helping the world. It is here that they live with Amma, imbibing her teachings, practicing meditation and participating in selfless service.

Amritapuri is also an international pilgrimage centre for people searching for consolation, motivation and peace of mind
