Hai Phong

Hai Phong is an important city in the northern region of Vietnam. The city is famed for its colonial look. One can get mesmerised seeing the streets of the city lined by the beautiful flame flower trees. And that makes a reason for the city to be called ‘The City of Flame Flowers’. The beautiful city holds many temples, shrines, pagodas, mausoleums, beach and communal house to be visited. Nearby islets to be visited include Halong Bay, Cat Ba Island and many more. The most exciting and the popular event here is the buffalo fighting, which attracts thousands of tourists every year. Most travellers only use Haiphong as a transport hop between the bus from Hanoi and the ferry to Cat Ba Island.
