Chau Doc

Châu Đốc is an important city in Vietnam. It sees its place beside the Hâu River and Vinh Te canal. Near the town is a picturesque mount of Sam. This place worships Sam Mountain Lady and holds The Sam Mount Lady Ceremony every year. Châu Đốc is better known for its variety of fish sauces “Mắm Tai”, a kind of anchovy. One can find a lot of basa catfish here, which are mainly exported to boost the economics of the city. To visit here is the famous Phước Điền temple, which sees itself as an official historic monument of Vietnam. Another such is a Tây An Temple, which is thought to be dating back from 1847.
