Warangal Fort

Warangal Fort, a remarkable architectural masterpiece of the Kakatiya Dynasty, stands proudly on the hillock of Ekashila, constructed in the 13th century by King Ganapatideva and his daughter Rani Rudrama.

Symbolic of the historical opulence during the reign of the Kakatiya Kingdom, the fort is a prominent landmark in Telangana State. Its three layers of fortification reflect its strategic defensive design.

Although now in ruins, Warangal Fort’s remains offer glimpses of mesmerizing craftsmanship and breathtaking artistry seen in its motifs, sculptures, and stonework.

Notable features include the Gateway of Glory, with impressively carved massive pillars standing 30 feet high, showcasing the splendor of South Indian architectural style. The fort’s ruins, inscriptions, and historical relics provide insights into the glorious Kakatiya era.

In addition to its splendid architectural features, the Warangal Fort offers a captivating sound and light show. The show timings are from 6:30 PM to 7:20 PM in Telugu and from 7:30 PM to 8:20 PM in English or Telugu, based on demand.
