Visva Bharati University

Visva Bharati University is a brainchild of Rabindra Nath Tagore. He established this institute with the aim of making it an educational and cultural hub of the nation. It sees itself as a public central university located in Santiniketan, West Bengal, India.

The institute was a college till independence, later in 1951, the institution was given the status of a university and was renamed Visva-Bharati University.

The university is unique. It still holds classes in the open under the shade of huge mango trees and students and tutors alike still travel by cycles to keep pollution at bay. The institute holds old buildings made up of mud walls and thatched roofs that attract the tourists from over the world.

The University offers various academic courses in higher studies like Pre-degree(10+2 level), Under Graduate, Post Graduate, Ph.D., etc. The knowledge enthusiasts can enroll themselves in this famed university.
