Second Hooghly Bridge
Second Hooghly Bridge or Vidyasagar Setu stands as a toll bridge over the Hooghly River in West Bengal. The bridge links the important cities of West Bengal- Kolkata, and Howrah.
Vidyasagar Setu holds the prestige of being the longest cable-stayed bridge in India. The bridge measures a total of 823 meters in length.
The construction of this mighty bridge started in May 1972 and took nearly Rs. 3.88 billion for its construction. The mighty bridge holds three lanes in each direction and a 1.2 meters wide footpath on each side.
This bridge also makes an iconic landmark of the city and the state as well.
