Sangeet Bhavana

Another yet very important organization founded by Gurudeva Rabindranath Tagore is Sangeet Bhavana. He believed in inculcating a sense of music and dance in his scheme of education. He himself is a composer of great originality believes in spreading this to the common people as well. As the writer of numerous dance-dramas, operas, and more than 2000 songs he was the perfect mentor to start an organization like this.

Sangeet Bhavana holds teaching classes – Hindusthani Classical Vocal, Rabindra Sangit and Instrumental Music (Esraj, Sitar, Tabla, Pakhawaj), Kathakali and Manipuri Dance styles, Dramas and Tagore”s own musical Dance-dramas.

The institute also commences regular functions and festivals like Tagore Week (Rabindra Saptaha), Bengali New Year”s Day, Varshamangal, Spring Festivals, congregational services of Poush, etc.
