Travel for 101 Kms from Coimbatore to reach Bhavani (in Erode district), where the famous Hindu temple- Sangameswarar Temple is located. The temple sees its place over the confluence of the Rivers Bhavani and Cauvery. The holy temple worships Lord Shiva in the form of Lord Sangameshwarar with his consort Vedanayaki. The temple covers a wide area of 4 acres of holy land. It also flaunts a 5 tier tower on the northern side. The temple also holds a shrine for Lord Vishnu. An interesting thing to notice in the temple is the ivory cradle with the signature of William Garrow, the then Collector of Coimbatore and Salem Districts.
