Ranked first in the ease of living index by MoHUA in terms of ‘livability’, Pune is the second largest city of Maharashtra. Often referred to as the cultural capital of the state, it is home to significant places with historical affiliation like Shaniwar Wada, Lal Mahal, Aga Khan Palace, and Shivneri Fort. Pune offers a perfect blend of modernity with tradition as we see in beautiful colonial architecture alongside contemporary developments. This Queen of the Deccan has now long been an educational hub too, which got Jawaharlal Nehru to call it ‘Oxford of the East’.

Touring Pune is usually a job of a couple of days so people usually club it with Mumbai, but nonetheless it has its own airport. The best time to visit the city is between the months of July and February. The city also has finger-licking food to offer, ranging from sasta street food to lavish meals in luxury hotels and restaurants. It’s also well known for its biscuits, bhel puri and pastry.
