Nagaraja Temple
Nagaraja Temple is an important Hindu temple located at Nagercoil in Tamil Nadu. It’s through the temple that the city got its name. Nagaraja Temple worships the Serpent God. The deity is worshipped in the form of a five-headed Naga. The temple also worships Lord Shiva and Lord Anantasayana. The walls of the temple reveal it’s mysterious history. The images of Jain Tirthankaras, Mahavira, and Parswanatha found over the pillars of the temple indicates the temple to be a Jain temple formerly. The temple give-away the sand scooped from the temple ground as the prasadam.
