Garh Jungle

Garh Jungle, Durgapur is an important place of Hindu mythology. The place is famed for the Ashram of Medhas Muni here.

The place is also known as the Dharma Garh of Raja Surath. It is believed that Raja Surath performed Durga Puja as told by Mahamuni Medhas here. The place now holds a temple- Shyamarumpa Mandir, which performed Durga puja every evening.
