Erwadi is a small town near the city of Rameshwaram, dwelling flawlessly along the sea shore. The town gained its popularity for housing the sacred shrine of the Hazrat Sultan Syed Ibrahim Sahid Aulia. he shrine is believed to be 800 years old and thought to possess some magical powers. People from all over the country pay a visit here to get cured from their chronic illness.
The town commences an annual festival, known by the name- Sandhanakoodu festival. The festival marks the day of Shahadat of Hazrat Sultan Syed Ibrahim Sahid Aulia.
