Durgapur Barrage

Durgapur Barrage is one of the must-visit place in Durgapur. Built across the Damodar River at Durgapur in Bankura district and partly in Paschim Bardhaman district, the Barrage is the lifeline of the city.

Opened in the year 1955, the Barrage is 692 m in length and 12m high. The maximum water depth is calculated to be 64.48 m (211.5 ft).

The place is soothing and refreshing and love of the architecture buffs. One must visit the place to see this engineering marvel and the water heart of the city.
