Ballavpur Wildlife Sanctuary

Ballabhpur Wildlife Sanctuary famed as Deer Park, is a popular tourist spot in Shantiniketan, West Bengal. The park was opened in the year 1977 for the public with the aim of inculcating love and care for the wild animals among the people and also to gift the wildlife a protected area to dwell.

This Wildlife Sanctuary holds three large water bodies (Jheel) which hosts numerous migratory as well as resident birds. The sanctuary is a protected home to numerous animals like Cheethals (Spotted Deer), Blackbucks, jackals, and foxes, etc. The sanctuary is adorned with a variety of flora and fauna to explore. To facilitate the tourists through it, there are numerous watchtowers inside the park and also safe walkways to infiltrate through the jungle.

The sanctuary covers a mighty area of 200 hectares and makes a perfect escape for weekend gateways.
