Agniteertham
Agniteertham is located on the eastern seashore opposite to Rameswaram. The place is famous as one among the 64 sacred baths in Rameswaram. Agniteertham welcomes thousands of pilgrims every year, who visit the teertham to take a holy bath in the sacred waters of Agniteertham. Other holy rituals are also performed here like prohithams, yagnya, and tharpanam. The popular belief behind taking a holy dip in the Agniteertham is it takes away all the sins of a person. The childless devotees to see great faith here, and perform special rituals to seek the parenthood. The ashes of the dead persons are dipped here with the faith that it will give them moksha.
