Adam’s Fountain
Standing in the Charing Cross junction at Ooty, this fountain was built in the memory of the famous Governor of Ooty. The personnel was very famous and loved by the people, So the people of the city shared the amount and installed a fountain costing around INR 14000 on his name.
The fountain changed its place from the vicinity of Collector’s office to Charring cross due to insufficient water source in the area. It was initially constructed in 1886 but carried to the current location in 1998.
The fountain now serve as an important landmark of the city and sees many passerby daily.
