Maafushi

Maafushi Island in Maldives

Maafushi is one of the settled islands of the Kaafu coral reef. The most talked-about place here is the Maafushi Prison. It can be considered as the most revered destination of the Maldives. Because of its high tourist inflow, there are numerous rest houses and hotels on this island. The pristine beach here is a love of the tourists. The place is also adorned with numerous diving schools that allow the tourists to explore the rich marine life of this area. The local market here is fun. One can take back souvenirs from here for their loved ones. The small bar towards the north, on the same reef as Maafushi, is a lovely place to spend a day snorkelling and sunbathing. Accessible by just walking in the sea during low tide, this tiny island has just about a couple of coconut trees, some shrubs and broad vistas of the Maldivian seascape in every direction. There is another bar named Furafathi, in the middle of the sea towards the west, but requires a boat for access. Snorkelling here is beautiful as there area unit uncountable fish, and also the reef round the islet is alive and healthy.
