The most cheap and exciting travel to Munnar is by a local bus transportation provided by the Government of Kerala. But taking into consideration the huge flow of tourists to Munnar especially from southern states and within Kerala, Kerala Urban road Transportation Corporation has introduced Volvo buses or AC/Non AC low floor buses to Cochin to Munnar and other similar routes also.
Way back in November 2014, Kerala Urban Road Transport Corporation (KURTC) was formed as Kochi as its headquarters to operate low-floor buses with the financial assistance from the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM).
Till recently, there was no option to reserve a seat prior to travel; now KURTC has launched online reservation facility. So it is now easy to avail tickets for AC Low Floor Buses via Online.
Currently Booking Started for Ernakulam – Munnar
Timings as follows:
- Departure from Ernakulam by 09:00 AM and estimated reach at Munnar by 02:00 PM.
- Departure from Munnar by 03:00 PM and estimated reach at Ernakulam by 08:00 PM

Rs 266/- Per Person (One Way Trip)
