Kala Bhavana
Kala Bhavana is the fine arts institute of Visva-Bharati University, in Shantiniketan, India. The institute was founded and established in 1919 by Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore.
Kala Bhavana sees itself as a distinguished center for Visual Art practice and research in India. The institute has given many famed artists to the country and has helped in keeping the tradition alive.
The academic program here is broad-based. It presents the vast repertoire of techniques and art forms backed by the knowledge of the history of art to the students. The institute holds sessions of studio practice, lectures, discussions, and exhibitions.
